SELF.
Mental wellbeing
for modern life.
A space to understand yourself, trust yourself and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Psychotherapy, psychological education and professional support with Geri Carey MSc, MBACP.

You don’t need to have it all worked out.
You might know exactly what has brought you here.
Or perhaps nothing is obviously wrong, but something doesn’t feel quite right anymore.
You may be overthinking everything. Feeling anxious or overwhelmed. Questioning yourself. Struggling with confidence. Finding the same patterns showing up in your relationships, work or the choices you make.
Or maybe you’ve simply reached a point where you don’t feel quite like yourself.
You don’t need to arrive with the answers.
Sometimes the first step is simply having somewhere to start making sense of what’s going on.
That’s what SELF. is here for.
Explore TherapyKnow Yourself. Trust Yourself.
Lead Yourself.
SELF. is built around a simple idea.
The more we understand ourselves, the more able we are to trust ourselves and make choices that feel right for us.
Know Yourself.
Understand what’s happening, what may have shaped you and the patterns, beliefs or expectations operating beneath the surface.
Trust Yourself.
Build confidence in your own judgement, needs and decisions.
Lead Yourself.
Make choices that feel more aligned with who you are, what matters to you and the life you want to live.
It isn’t a rigid three-step programme.
It’s the thread that runs through everything at SELF.
Ways to work with SELF.
There is no single right way to begin.
You might want regular therapy, support with something specific, a more structured programme, a place to learn about yourself at your own pace or professional support within your work.

Individual Therapy
A regular space that’s just for you.
More about Individual Therapy
One-to-one integrative psychotherapy for adults, available face to face in Cheadle, Staffordshire and online.
You may be dealing with anxiety, overwhelm, low confidence, relationship difficulties, work pressure or a significant change in your life.
Or you may simply want to understand yourself and the patterns in your life more deeply.
The work develops around you, at a pace that fits you.

SELF Focus
Sometimes you don’t need more advice. You need the right conversation.
More about SELF Focus
SELF Focus is a private 90-minute therapeutic coaching intensive for the decisions, doubts and situations that deserve more than another conversation.
It gives you dedicated one-to-one time to organise your thoughts, challenge your thinking and explore what may be making a decision, situation or next step difficult to navigate.
Ideal for big decisions, difficult conversations, crossroads, change or moments when you’ve thought something through repeatedly but still feel stuck.

SELF Anxiety
A structured 12-week therapeutic programme for when anxiety is the main thing getting in your way.
More about SELF Anxiety
You might look like you’re coping.
You’re working, looking after other people, getting things done and keeping life moving.
But underneath, your mind rarely switches off.
SELF Anxiety gives us a structured way to understand how anxiety is showing up for you, what may be driving it and what genuinely helps.
We’ll look at your nervous system, triggers, thoughts, behaviours, coping patterns and, where it’s helpful, what may be sitting underneath.
The framework gives us structure.
The therapy is individual to you.

SELF at Work
Psychological support for the human behind the role.
More about SELF at Work
SELF at Work brings psychologically informed support into organisations, teams and emotionally demanding environments.
This includes workplace wellbeing, training, reflective support and consultancy for people whose roles regularly involve pressure, emotion or difficult conversations.
Geri also provides event welfare and consultancy, supporting events and teams from planning and briefing through to on-site welfare support.
SELF.
Therapy shaped around you.
You are the expert on you. Even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.
Life and experience can sometimes disconnect us from our own judgement.
That’s why Geri works alongside you rather than telling you what to do.
Her approach is integrative, which means therapy isn’t delivered in exactly the same way to everybody.
One session might simply give you space to talk.
Another might involve understanding what’s happening in your nervous system, noticing a thinking pattern, exploring something from the past, working with beliefs or using practical exercises.
At times, the work may become more coaching-focused as you move from understanding what is happening towards deciding what you want to do next.
What is happening now
We look at what’s going on in your life today.
What sits underneath
Where it’s useful, we explore experiences, beliefs, expectations and patterns that may have developed over time.
Practical and deeper
Sometimes the work is practical. Sometimes it goes deeper. Usually, it’s a mixture of both.
The goal isn’t for you to need therapy forever.
It’s to help you understand yourself more deeply, recognise your patterns and build greater trust in your own judgement.
